To get back up and running quickly, visit the Simple.TV website in your browser (http://www.simple.tv) and login with your email address and password.
1) I see a “Server Error in ‘/‘ Application” message when I visit the website
Due to account changes, some users visiting the website may need to clear their web browser cookies before being able to sign in to the website. This process may differ slightly depending on the web browser you use. You can find steps for your browser at the following link: http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/clear-cookies-installed.html. Once cleared, you should be able to load the website correctly.
2) I’m unable to sign in to the Simple.TV website
If you’re unable to login, try creating a new account with the same email address. If the account already exists, you will need to reset your password and sign in. If they account does not exist, you will need to create it. After you’re signed in, you will need to go through the setup process for your DVR. Your recorded shows should remain untouched on your hard drive. Some older recordings may not be immediately available for viewing. When prompted during setup, you will want to choose to keep your existing recordings and not format the drive.
3) I’m able to sign in to the Simple.TV website, but my DVR isn’t found
If you’re able to login to the website, but you’re prompted with a message that you need to setup your DVR, your account is in place but you’ll need to go through the DVR setup process. This process is done entirely on the website and consists of registering your DVR, formatting the hard drive and scanning for channels.
When prompted during setup if you want to format your hard drive or keep your shows, choosing the KEEP option will allow you to retain recordings that have already been saved. Please note, some older recordings may not be immediately available.
4) I am able to login to the website and everything seems fine!
Not all users are impacted by todays event and will be able to continue using their DVR unaffected. In the event you are able to login, we suggest you look through your scheduled recordings and verify any shows or series you wish to record are still scheduled. In the event they are not, you will need to choose to record them (the show or the series) again. Please note, some older recordings may not be immediately available.
