Software update taking a long time

Question:
Why is the software update taking so long? Did it hang?

Answer: 
When setting up your Simple.TV for the first time, you will receive a software update that typically takes up to 10 minutes to install.  Additionally, users who have already setup Simple.TV will be able to choose to install future updates when available.  

A small number of users may experience an issue where the software update begins but does not seem to complete. 

If your software update process has been running for more than 30 (thirty) minutes, it has most likely completed but your device has not rebooted and you will need to power cycle the DVR. Please make sure you do not follow these steps unless your device has hung during an update and it has been more than 30 minutes since beginning the process.

1) Unplug the power cable from the back of your Simple.TV DVR
2) Wait 5 seconds
3) Plug the power cable back in to your Simple.TV DVR
4) Wait up to 2 minutes for your device to become accessible through our website or Simple.TV app of choice
